The B76 area is brilliantly placed for varied driving experience. Lessons here take in the residential roads of Walmley, the busier routes connecting into Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham city, and the roads that skirt the edge of Castle Vale — an area with its own distinctive road layout that gives learners great practice in urban navigation. You'll also have the opportunity to practise on dual carriageway sections and the kinds of busier junctions that frequently appear on driving tests.

Minworth's position close to major road links means your instructor can safely introduce you to faster roads at the right stage of your training, giving you confidence in a controlled and progressive way. Building that dual carriageway experience early makes a real difference to learners' overall confidence and test readiness.

The Sutton Coldfield driving test centre has now permanently closed. Learners in Walmley and Minworth now sit their practical test at either the Lichfield Driving Test Centre or the Kingstanding Driving Test Centre. Your instructor will ensure your lessons cover the approach routes and road types used around both centres.

Plantsbrook School, located in the B76 area, is the main local secondary school for many Walmley and Minworth students. We're pleased to offer pickups directly from Plantsbrook — but to avoid the traffic that builds around the school at the start and end of the day, we ask that lessons are booked for mid-morning, lunchtime, or after after-school clubs. These slots work perfectly alongside the school day and mean your lesson gets off to a smooth start.
