Your driving test is the culmination of everything you've worked towards. At Sutton Driving School, we do everything we can to make the day as calm, focused, and stress-free as possible — so you can concentrate on driving at your best.

What's Included

Use of the instructor's car for the test (fully insured)
A pre-test lesson of at least one hour to warm up and settle your nerves
Travel to the test centre with plenty of time to spare
A recap of your show me / tell me questions before you go in
Support and debrief from your instructor afterwards

On the Day

We'll pick you up at least an hour before your test start time. This gives you time to get comfortable in the car, clear your head, and arrive at the test centre relaxed rather than rushed.

At the test centre, we'll park up together and wait for the examiner to call your name. They'll ask you to confirm your address and that the vehicle is insured — it is. They'll explain what will happen on the test and do their best to put you at ease. Then it's over to you.

The test itself lasts approximately 40–45 minutes and includes an independent driving section, one or two manoeuvres, and a show me / tell me question.

Important — What to Bring

You must bring both parts of your driving licence — your photocard AND your confirmation email or test letter. You will not be permitted to take your test without the correct documentation.
